Its "New Generation AI Development Plan," released in 2017, outlines ambitious goals for domestic AI development while emphasizing ethical considerations. Canada presents another noteworthy example. The Canadian government introduced the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (AIDA) in June 2022. This legislation focuses on promoting fairness, accountability, and transparency in the development and deployment of AI systems. AIDA complements existing federal and provincial privacy laws that apply to AI systems handling personal data.
